Your intuition is guiding you - are you listening?
I talk a lot about intuition and divine guidance, about how important it is to listen and act on, but sometimes it shows up such strange ways that we don’t even realise at the time what it is.
This summer, I lost my part-time job after already having to close the majority of my own business in March and the first of our lockdowns in the UK. We were due to have some work done on our garden that we really could not afford, I was at a 10th of my normal income and financially it could not have been a worse time. My husband questioned whether we should wait another year, I mean it had been like it for a few years already - what was the harm in waiting?
I was adamant though that it had to be done this year. When asked why, I tried to find reasons - I just don’t want to go through another year of it like this. It needs to be done. Truth was I didn’t know why I felt so strongly about it, but I knew i did.
From the outside it looked like I was digging my heels in with no reason, that was true. But we went ahead anyway and thank goodness we did.
Last weekend there was a car on fire, abandoned right outside out house. By our brand new fence.
The work we had done in our garden was to remove huge runs of dry and brittle hedges and replace. Those hedges spanned three sides of our home. They were bone dry, perfect kindling. Had they still been surrounding our home, there’s no doubt they would have gone up in flames. I don’t know if our house would have survived. We certainly wouldn’t have been able to safely leave the house without passing by the fire.
When I told a friend what had happened she reminded me how I had said to her in the summer that they were a fire hazard. Truth is, I had found the thought of a fire there popping in to my head frequently right up until we had the work scheduled in.
Call it what you will but I truly believe that my strong feelings over this were divinely guided, my intuition and guidance told me it was important it was done.
Have you ever had a similar experience?
Are you one of those people who felt drawn to take a different route to work and avoided an accident?
Ever done something out of character on a whim that then turned in to an amazing opportunity?
Met a stranger randomly who ended up having an important role in your life?
Next time you feel a niggle, drawn to a particular action, pay attention - it might be the first step towards something amazing.
